Lovable pricing: what each plan costs and what you still pay after you move

Lovable has four plans: Free, Pro from $25 a month, Business from $50 a month and Enterprise with contract pricing. That part is easy to find. The part most pricing pages skip: the same credits that pay for building also pay for running your app. So the Lovable bill does not stop when you stop building, and it does not always stop when you move your code somewhere else.

Prices checked on 27 October 2026, in US dollars, without tax. There is no price per seat. Every plan allows unlimited workspace members, and they all share the credits of the workspace. More people just means the credits go faster.

Annual billing gives you two months free. Pro with 100 credits is $250 a year, which works out to about $21 a month.

Every Pro and Business tier

Monthly creditsPro, monthlyBusiness, monthly

5,000$1,125$2,250
7,500$1,688$3,300
10,000$2,250$4,300

On Pro a credit costs 25 cents on the smallest tier and 22.5 cents on the biggest. Business costs twice as much for the same credits up to 5,000, and a bit less than that above.

That does not make running an app twice as expensive on Business. Lovable says Cloud and AI usage costs the same in dollars on both plans. Business just takes fewer credits for it, because a Business credit is worth $0.50 and a Pro credit $0.25. Where Business really costs more is building.

Is Lovable free?

Yes. You can build and publish on Free. The limits:

  • 5 build credits a day, but only 30 a month. If you use all 5 every day, you are out after 6 days and wait until the 1st.
  • No custom domain. Your app stays on a lovable.app address.
  • No code editing and no code download inside Lovable. The "Edit with Lovable" badge stays on.
  • No top-ups. When you run out, you wait or upgrade.

Git sync with GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket works on Free too. So even on Free your code is not stuck. Export a Lovable project to GitHub shows how.

For scale, Lovable gives these examples: "Make the button gray" costs 0.50 credits, "Add authentication" 1.20 and a landing page with images 2.00. Real projects cost more, because Lovable has to read more code. How credits are counted, when they reset and when they expire is in Out of Lovable credits?

What Pro and Business add

Pro adds code editing, code download, custom domains, removing the badge, design systems, credit rollovers, top-ups, auto top-up, credit limits per member and usage alerts.

Business adds everything in Pro plus SSO, role-based access, the security center, design templates, publishing to your workspace and the Lovable API. On Business your workspace data is kept out of AI model training by default. On Free and Pro you opt out per account.

If you searched for the Lovable API: it is a Business feature. It is not on Pro.

For one person or a small team, Pro is the plan. Business makes sense when you need SSO, the API or more control over who sees what. Not for more credits.

Running your app costs credits too

This is the part that surprises people. In the usage view Lovable splits credits into Build credits (building and chat) and Run credits (everything your live app does). It is one balance, the split only shows where it went.

Run credits pay for three things:

  • Cloud, the built-in backend. Lovable bills the database server (its size, how long it runs and its traffic), database storage, network, file storage, compute and realtime.
  • The AI gateway: every model call your app makes. The model and the amount of work decide the price.
  • Connectors.

Each month the Cloud, AI and connector grants are used first. After that the usage comes out of your general credits. Lovable says the grants are temporary and can change.

The pricing page says hosting a small or new app is usually covered by the grant, and that apps with a lot of traffic or data start to cost more. A few things push the number up:

  • Database size. Paid plans can pick Tiny, Mini, Small, Medium, Large or X-Large in the Manage instance dialog, which shows an estimated monthly cost under each size. Bigger sizes use more credits. Free stays on Tiny.
  • Stored files. They keep using credits, also while the project is paused.
  • Scheduled jobs. Frequent or long ones add up.

At zero, building stops, AI features in your live app stop and apps on Lovable Cloud pause until you add credits.

Put that together with "Free has no top-ups" and you get the real limit of Free. An app with a Lovable Cloud backend on Free has 20 Cloud credits a month. If it needs more, the backend pauses until the next month or until you upgrade.

To see where your money goes, open Workspace settings, Plans & credit usage, Usage details and switch between Build credits and Run credits. This one screen tells you whether moving your editing or moving your hosting saves more.

Custom domains

  • Connecting a domain you already own adds nothing to your Lovable bill, but it needs a paid plan. You keep paying your registrar.
  • A domain bought through Lovable costs the yearly price shown before checkout. It is billed separately from your plan.
  • If you downgrade, domains you already connected keep working and you can still disconnect them. You just cannot connect a new one on Free.

Moving the domain to another host later is covered in Move a Lovable custom domain to a new host.

How to cancel and what you keep

Lovable has no separate cancel button. You downgrade to Free:

  • Go to Workspace settings, Plans & credit usage.
  • Select Manage on your plan card.
  • Select Downgrade to free and finish the steps.

Your plan stays active until the end of the billing period, then the workspace moves to Free. After that:

  • Unused monthly and rollover credits are frozen. They come back if you upgrade again before they expire.
  • Top-up and bonus credits still work on Free until they expire.
  • Lovable does not refund credits or the current billing period.
  • Published apps stay live. Lovable may unpublish a Free app only when it had no visits and no workspace owner login for 12 months or more, and has no custom domain. Even then it keeps the project, the code and the data.

Student discount

Students and teachers get 50% off Pro with 100 credits, billed monthly, for up to 12 months. That is $12.50 a month instead of $25. The student page says other plans get $12.50 a month off.

You verify at lovable.dev/students with your school email. A personal address like Gmail does not work. The workspace has to be on Free when you verify. If you cancel, you lose the discount and cannot get it back.

What you pay after you move

The step-by-step guides for Claude Code, Codex and Cursor ask you early on how far you want to go. The bill depends on that answer more than on the tool.

You keep Lovable hosting and edit somewhere else

This is the smallest change. Your code syncs with Lovable through GitHub, you edit it in Claude Code, Codex or Cursor and Lovable still publishes the app.

So the Run credits stay. Can you drop to Free? Yes, if two things are true:

  • Your app fits in the monthly Cloud, AI and connector grants, because Free cannot buy more.
  • Your custom domain is already connected, because Free cannot connect a new one.

If either one fails, the smallest Pro tier at $25 a month keeps the app running. Then you pay for the editing tool:

ToolCheapest way in
Claude CodeClaude Pro, $20 a month or $17 billed yearly. Not on the free Claude plan
CodexIncluded in every ChatGPT plan, but on Free and Go only in the desktop app. The terminal, the editor extension and the web start at Plus, $20 a month
CursorFree plan. Plus is $8 a month for Grok models only. Claude and GPT cost extra at API list price, from Premium at $30 a month

Each of them has its own usage limits. None of them is unlimited. To choose, read Codex vs Claude Code, Cursor vs Claude Code and Cursor vs Codex. The Claude plans in detail are in Claude Code pricing.

You move hosting off Lovable too

Now you pay a host. If your app uses Lovable Cloud, you also need your own database, usually your own Supabase project. Move Lovable Cloud to your own Supabase project shows how.

PieceFree optionPaid option
VercelHobby, $0, for personal, non-commercial use onlyPro, $20 a month per developer
Own VPS with PanelAlphaNoneAbout $5 to $15 a month for the VPS. It must be a new VPS
Supabase$0: 500 MB database, 1 GB file storage, 50,000 monthly active users, 2 active projects. Paused after 1 week without activityPro from $25 a month, with $10 of compute credits that cover one Micro instance

Once the app runs elsewhere, you can drop Lovable to Free or cancel it. Your code is in GitHub either way.

A few example monthly bills

List prices before tax and before usage above the included limits.

SetupPer month
Stay on Lovable Pro, 100 credits$25
Lovable Free for hosting, Claude Pro for editing$20, only while the app fits in the Free grants
Vercel Hobby, Supabase Free, Claude Pro$20, but Hobby is non-commercial only and Supabase Free pauses after a week without activity
Vercel Pro, Supabase Pro, Claude Pro$65
Own VPS, Supabase Pro, Claude ProAbout $50 to $60

So moving is not cheaper by default. A small app on Lovable Pro at $25 is hard to beat. Moving starts to pay off when you need more than 100 credits a month for building, or when your Run credits grow because the app has real traffic. That is why the Usage details screen matters more than any table here.

Which plan to pick

  • Just trying Lovable: Free. Connect GitHub on day one, so the code is yours from the start.
  • Building every week: Pro, on the tier that matches your real usage. Pay for the year only when you are sure.
  • You need SSO, the Lovable API or publishing to your workspace only: Business.
  • Most of your credits go to building and a terminal does not scare you: move the editing to Claude Code, Codex or Cursor and keep Lovable for hosting.
  • Most of your credits are Run credits: look at moving hosting and the database. Start with Where to host a Lovable app and the Lovable migration checklist.

Lovable changes its pricing often. The current chat pricing applies through 31 October 2026, and the monthly grants are marked temporary too. Check the pricing page before you pay for a year.
